Basics On Starting A Freelance Event Planning Business

Do you have experience planning parties? Or do you have unique and creative ideas for events? Do you enjoy spending time scrolling Pinterest in search for the perfect decoration pieces, cakes, invitations and stage backdrops? Well if you do, then you are on the right page to turn that interest into income. Did you know that you can be a work-from-home event organiser? Yes, so you can earn some extra money, doing what you enjoy, whilst still having time for family and friends.

Event planning is basically what it sounds like however, in 2017, it was hailed the 5th most stressful job according to a Forbes article. Are you up for the challenge? If you have no experience how to be a freelance event organiser then here are a few tips before you kickstart your career.

Register

Before anything else you need to secure your business’ license so you’ll become a certified event planner. You also need to register your business name too. Make sure you apply for the correct licenses and permits so that you don’t get into any legal trouble while building your brand.

Research the market

Opportunities don’t knock on your door. You need to use your tools in order to find clients. Use the internet for searching events in need of an organiser and have your plan prepared. Create a timeline and a budget outline for your target event.

Recalled, Remembered and Rebooked

When organising an event make sure that you make an impact, and you are remembered. Offer your best service so in the future they would be more likely to call for you again. Add in a little something that is original, so you stand out from the crowds. It could be a game, some food, some entertainment or a show piece, but make it something memorable.

It can be very rewarding to organise your own events but your salary will ultimately depend on how good you are at your job, promoting your ideas and at negotiating your price.
