Enhancing Employee Experience

Employee engagement and employee experience are often used interchangeably in HR circles. Employee experience refers to how much an employee connects with your company’s objectives, values, and culture.  What they experience whilst working with you and if that experience is positive, or negative, and what they get from the experience. Whereas employee engagement pertains to how well an employee interacts and benefits from the organisation’s values, objectives, and culture. Engagement is give and take, what you can give to the company and what you take from it and how much you partake within the company’s culture.

As new trends emerge, new buzz phrases emerge in the HR world. Leadership, work culture, engagement, retention, reskilling, learning and development, and technology were all identified as previous trends. To adopt these trends, HR executives came up with innovative ideas and unique solutions. These sectors appear to be improving just little, with little or no influence on business development.

As such, companies currently claim to be excellent at providing an excellent employment experience. On birthdays, they serve cakes or hang eccentric banners with amusing inscriptions. Isn’t it true that “happy” workers are more productive and successful? They are, but genuine organisational success requires a knowledge of what makes them happy.

Developing a genuinely positive work culture can lead to lower recruitment costs (Except for expansions), lower turnover, higher profits, better customer and staff retention, and a better customer experience.

Here are some ideas for improving your company’s employee experience, from onboarding to giving the proper tools for the task.

  1. Easy application – Employee experience begins even before they start working for you. It begins even before they apply for a job. To make recruiting simpler, have a simple application procedure. Employees are already using numerous employment platforms when looking for work.
  1. Effective Onboarding Programs- A defective onboarding program might have a negative impact on your company’s image. So make it as smooth as possible.
  1. Valuing Employee Feedback- Conduct staff surveys on a regular basis. Surveys assist you in identifying areas in your company where you are succeeding and where you need to improve.

Business and jobs have been thrown into disarray as a result of global shocks like Covid-19. However, it has harmed the employee experience the most.

All industries are changing as a result of remote employment and more digitization. Every company needs to make an additional effort to ensure that remote employees feel connected, satisfied, and safe.
