What tasks can Virtual Assistants do?

The Internet has allowed people to do a whole lot of things. This covers a wide range of activities, from instantaneous communicating with friends and family from across the globe to exchanging files with just the click of a button. As technological and professional development in our society continues, even employment for most jobs has been changed so that people cao do more from the comfort of home. The freelancing community prospers and one of the jobs in this economy is to be a Virtual Assistant (VA). Whether you’re an expert or a beginner, being a Virtual Assistant can be quickly learned and you can fully work from home if you opt to be VA.

I want to be a VA, but what do they do?

Some of the tasks VAs do are the following:

  1. Social Media Marketing and Advertising

The rise of digital communications has rapidly influenced people’s lifestyles. People today are more invested in social media and have more people working it,  since Social media does not sleep, businesses recognise that they need 24hr coverage on their accounts. This is perfect for VA’s who can work 24hrs a day, and cover the social media interactions from different time zones.

  1. Audio and Video Editor

If you are someone inclined to the digital arts, you can also be a VA too!

  1. Content Writer

This task involves composing press releases and newsletters and submitting to news release directories. Moreover, being a content writer also involves responding to comments made on the business’s blog.

  1. Miscellaneous

A VA can also perform writing down minutes from meetings and then creating a detailed document for a company, placing ads on career websites, reviewing resumes and contacting the right candidates, or even Interviewing job applicants and speaking with references. In-bound and out-bound calling, meeting preparation, sales assistance, appointment setting and many more tasks can also be covered by a good VA.

Of course, there are more tasks you can do if you want to be a Virtual Assistant because after all, a VA job description is still reliant on the requests of the employer. To sum it all, the majority of VAs work as freelancers are paid hourly. This means, there is still additional time for a VA to upgrade skills to be a well rounded VA.
