remote work expanded in size during the public health crisis. Building team collaboration when employees work from different locations is one of the most difficult aspects of leading virtual teams. According to studies, workers who work in different places have lower levels of trust and more conflict than those who work next to each other. Poor Goals & Guidance – It is quite typical for folks working in virtual teams, especially, global teams, to become frustrated with the arrangement since some of them feel misdirected, and have to adapt to the head Office culture all of the time. Some other groups either don’t hear news or receive it too late. Which leads to a slew of difficulties. Moreover, you can go up to the person’s workstation, call a team meeting, or ask for an update in the room at an office. However, since not everyone can be present or available when you need them, this is difficult to replicate virtually.

Legalities, Policies & Security Issues – If your remote team includes workers from various countries, you’ll need to learn about local employment laws, recruitment processes, tax regulations, and so on. Plus, you won’t really know whether your people are accessing web pages or downloading apps that pose a security risk to your organisation.
  1. Lack of Personal Connection – While 90% of remote workers like the freedom that comes with working from home, still,  working with others is said to be more challenging. Remote employees frequently feel alienated, which can have a negative impact on team dynamics. A lack of face-to-face interaction may result in a lack of group performance and rapport among coworkers.
  1. Not getting the joke – There is office banter, in-house jokes and things that you can only learn, say and do when you are in the presence of others, Remote workers miss that opportunity to grow with the team.
