You don’t have to be a workaholic to win

Let us break the idea that overworking is good. Hustleporn is a new craze that is not good for you. There is no badge of honour for being burned out. It is simply not healthy in terms of many things like physically, mentally, and emotionally. We should stop glamorizing that working longer hours is beautiful and equates to being more productive. Almost anyone can work for longer hours, especially if you are young and healthy without many responsibilities.

Truth be told, there are many ways to prove that you are working efficiently and effectively, and here are some of the ways you can beat overworking by replacing it with the following:
  • Creativity – problems don’t just involve applying a logical mind to find the answers. It involves the ability to come up with creative solutions. This is both a talent and something that can be cultivated. The negative implications of sleep loss on creativity is serious and this is something the workaholics will never be able to compete with you on.
  • Stubbornness – this means that you are stubborn in a good way like when no one on the team could work out a solution, but it absolutely had to be found, then this could be a perfect time to be stubborn and never give up. Stubborness in this sense means being able to resist the idea of giving up easily.
  • Planning – just like how important creativity is, it is also necessary that you have a plan– a clearer and feasible plan. The ability to map a road towards the objective of the organisation is a game-changer. Of course, your plan should be for the long-term and for a sustainable future rather than for short term because a good planner takes advantage of this by keeping things focused on what could possibly happen in the future and the challenges along with it.
