Where do I find remote jobs?

Remote working and Hybrid working are the norm now, but there are still some companies looking to employ people full time and keep them in their office. Is this an outdated process now and are more people looking for a purely remote job? The dream of working from a beach hut in Bali is fast becoming a reality for many.

Many people interested in taking gigs have been asking this question nonstop ever since the growth of the gig economy. Job search engines can show you a huge list of potential positions in your city — or beyond — without knowing you or what you truly want. However, just because it shows a long list of opportunities doesn’t mean you desire any of them. So what are the best job boards to find high paying remote jobs?

  1. Angel.co – By far the best job board to look for remote jobs. There are no guessing games. You can view salary and stock options before you apply.
  1. weworkremotely.com – This site is interesting because there are so many different roles and combinations provided. It offers both full-time and part-time and freelance positions. However, not all listings include requirements for a certain pay or geographic location.
  1. Glassdoor.com – Glassdoor is known as a traditional job board that a lot are aware of hence, we would suggest it to anyone looking for work from home opportunities. Yet, there are still several “fake remote” vacancies from large firms, but on the plus side, it has a lot of highly valuable crowdsourced information regarding the roles and the interview process.

Meanwhile, we can also add LinkedIn and Indeed to the list as both have a large number of job postings, but they also have a lot of background noise. If you are keen on using these two job boards you might sometimes have a difficult time sorting between true remote opportunities and opportunities offering remote, but meaning it is only an option. If you are looking for legitimate remote gigs, remember to be cautious. Why? Many of the listings on different job boards are spam, which means that applicants will not receive a response from the companies.

The three listed job boards are just a few of the many ways and sites you can land part-time or full-time remote work. If you are willing to get that deal, try to avoid saturated job boards. Always ask if the job is really remote, or if it is only offering it as an option for some lucky few. Some people might need remote, others might choose remote, others might want remote or hybrid for only some of the time but want to be in the office more than not. It is a diverse market out there, know what you want and go after it.
